Tanglewood Days in the Arts (DARTS) Summer Program
The Days in the Arts (DARTS) program is a summer residential program near Tanglewood that provides middle school students with a high-quality arts immersion experience, allowing each student to engage with and create art and their peers in a positive, non-judgmental environment. The program unites students from urban, suburban and rural communities, seeking to break down barriers and stereotypes by creating a community of mutual respect and understanding. The DARTS philosophy is founded on fostering respect for and interest in each person’s diversity, interests, talents, and individuality. DARTS strives to provide an environment in which students are exposed to the arts and to people from a wide range of backgrounds.
(Girls – Overnight)
Belvoir Terrace, a Girls Visual and Performing Arts Summer Camp: Belvoir offers exciting programs in the fine arts, theater, dance, music and sports. Girls grades two through ten develop skills, creativity and self-confidence while having fun. Each girl selects her own program and is then placed in small classes organized by age and skill level. All classes are taught by specialist staff. Campers enjoy five classes a day on an alternating day schedule. Belvoir encourages younger and first time campers to elect a diverse schedule of ten different activities, but all campers can choose to focus on art, dance, music, theater, and sports such as tennis, swimming or horseback riding. Skill is not a pre-requisite, but an outgrowth of the program. Supervised estate living enhances residential life during the six-week program. This summer, Belvoir will offer a one-week mini-camp for girls in grades 2-5 in Aug. 10-17.
