The 2019 Annual Wellness Retreat is open to all healthy adults who would like to experience the five wellness systems of traditional martial arts:

  • Mindfulness
  • Stretching and mobility
  • Energy Cultivation
  • Nutrition
  • Health & longevity

The retreat is sponsored by the Healing Warrior Society, a group of lifelong martial artists with a passion for traditional systems of wellness and healing.  Through outreach and education, we enable our members to move better, feel better and think better.  We exist to enable the active and healthy enjoyment of life through martial arts at any age.

This event is open to non-members, and no prior experience is required.

The room and board package included 3 meals/ day.

Guests who are registered for a program but choose not to stay on our campus are required to pay a Commuter Fee. This fee covers Lunch in our Dining Hall and full access to our campus amenities. To register, please select "Commuter" option in the "PAY TUITION HERE" link.

John St. James has been practicing health and wellness for over 40 years. Mr. St. James currently serves as the President and Founding Master of the Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation. He is also the president and CEO of the APTSD Foundation (501c3 Non-Profit) and the World Leadership Foundation (501c3 Non-Profit). John also serves as President of the Healing Warrior Society (HWS).  Mr. St. James receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego and later obtained an advanced degree in Insurance and Risk Management from the American Institute.

 

Jason Duva has been studying health and wellness arts for over thirty years. Since becoming a certified martial arts instructor in 1992, he has been helping students to develop lifelong habits for well-being.  Mr. Duva has studied eastern philosophy and mindfulness techniques throughout his martial arts career together with extensive training in modern, evidence-based principles of nutrition, mobility, and health.  Mr. Duva received his law degree from Boston College Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Brown University.

Food

Our menus are based on group preferences and budget. We offer delicious, balanced vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals which typically include raw salads and hot vegetable dishes. Upon request, we will gladly prepare unseasoned blanched or steamed dishes for lunch and dinner. We easily accommodate gluten/dairy free needs, and many of our seasonings and oils are provided on the side for guests to season meals to taste. Several rooms have refrigerators, so guests are welcome to bring food that suit their needs if they have issues we cannot accommodate. Please note that we are unable to reduce meal costs due to food allergies.

Payment Policy

A $50 non-refundable deposit is taken at the time registration occurs.
The full balance is collected 7 days prior to arrival.

Cancellation Policy

Other than the deposit, no fees are incurred if cancelled up to 7 days after reservation date.
50% of the total cost is retained if cancelled less than 4 days prior to event.
The $50 deposit given at registration is non-refundable.
