Terence Dunn’s Flying Phoenix Qigong

Jul 28, 2020 - Aug 02, 2020

Flying Phoenix Qigong with Master Terry Dunn is a 5-day immersive workshop that teaches  Flying Phoenix Heavenly Healing Chi Meditations (Fei Feng San Gung), a rare and extraordinarily powerful medical Qigong system that was created more than 400 years ago by renowned Taost monk Feng Dao Deh of Ehrmeishan.  In this workshop, you will learn this complete Taoist monastic system of hygienics –comprised of standing and seated, stationary and moving meditations that imparts a wide range of salient health benefits with remarkable swiftness: increased respiratory power, improved circulation and metabolism, higher energy levels, improved neuro-muscular function and balance, peak immunity, increased bone strength, and the allostatic reversal of many signs of aging.

Flying Phoenix Qigong imparts its remarkable health benefits through a yogic mechanism that brings all the organ functions of the body under the regulation of the subconscious mind. This super-regulating process and energy cultivation is brought on by each of the 24 Flying Phoenix Meditations, which consists of (A) an easy-to-do breath-control formula followed by (B) a meditation in repose or a serene moving meditation using repetitive natural movements that are done three times slower than typical Tai Chi practice. The esoteric breathing formula that precedes each Flying Phoenix meditation ignites a specific flow of Qi in the body that is tangible; the following posture and movements circulate the energy through specific orbs of the body. Flying Phoenix Qigong is easier to learn and practice than Tai Chi and its health benefits are tangible, profound, and more immediate.  Long term Flying Phoenix practice activates man’s latent healing potential and cultivates a superabundance of the distinctively tangible and visible Flying Phoenix Energy (Qi) that has extraordinary healing properties unlike any type of energy generated by any other form of Yoga.

Besides providing its splendid health benefits, Flying Phoenix Qigong integrates mind and body so deeply that it develops highest structural sensitivity that imbues the practitioner with deepest levels of jhanic absorption that naturally carries over into any other form or mode of meditation, making it deeper and more comfortable and blissful.

The proof of the Flying Phoenix Pudding is this lively worldwide discussion thread now in its eight year, with 4500 postings and 590,000+ views, on which Master Dunn answers all questions on a weekly basis:

In 2000 and 2001, Terry became the first Tai Chi trainer in the NBA, training the Los Angeles Lakers during their second championship season, conducting a 50-minute Tai Chi and Kung Fu warm-up and conditioning regimen at the start of every practice. Testimonials

Because of the great interest in Qigong in the west, it is important to have bona fide teachings by bona fide teachers. Too often students wind up learning a little bit of this form and a little bit of another, while never learning any complete system. This series is a good example of a serious and gifted instructor who offers a complete system of healing qigong to the serious student.

Solala Towler, Editor, The Empty Vessel, Journal of Contemporary Taoism (1996)

This is a great practice for body, mind and spirit.  It is holy;  it is healthful;  it is scientific.  Yet, there are no words. Just do the movements, memorize the movements, do the breathing exercises before. Do not argue, do not think. Just do, and you will see results. How did the ancient Chinese discover this?

Four Tusk Njoku “Njoku” (Philadelphia, USA) May 11, 2007

You have been in my thoughts a great deal, as one of the teachers who has, in my post-academic phase, shown me the very physical, kinetic component of bliss or enlightenment. The early Buddhist scriptures speak of “touching Nirvana with your body.”  I now understand what this means due ot the effects of your instruction in Chi Kung.  I am mainly working with the exercises in your Volume 5 video, which were included in Minnesota.  Such simplicity and profound subtlety!
