Tea Tell Truth & Cooking Tea with Jia Li

Tea Tell Truth

My name is Jia Li. I am a Neuroscientist for the University of Massachusetts Medical School and Founder of Tea Tell Truth. My love affair with tea began when I was a child growing up in the mountainous region of Yunnan in China, where tea originated.

I have been hosting tea lectures, tea mindfulness and tea parties to help more people. In today’s fast-paced and stressful lifestyle, I believe that spending a few minutes to brew loose tea leaves will help you connect with your inner-self. Tea is unlike any beverage since it has positive effects on one’s mental and physical health.

Specifically, my focus is on ‘Puerh’ Tea, which is a high-quality tea from Yunnan. This tea is made from post fermented tea leaves. Fermentation significantly improves its health benefits.

Ancient Tea Trees

Our tea is made by Ancient Tea Trees from Yunnan, China where tea had its origins thousands of years ago. We focus on every detail when we produce our products.

We are based in Massachusetts where is the center of history, education and American spirit. Tea Tell Truth’s family and partners are located in Yunnan, China, a town full of tea masters and tea trees that are thousands of years old. The tea trees are real fossils – the ancestors of tea. We believe tea is Mother Nature’s greatest gift.

It takes around one week on average to produce a Raw Puerh Tea Cake, and two months to produce a Fermented Ripe Puerh Tea Cake. Unlike other tea, Puerh Tea needs time to become post fermented. Puerh tea tastes better the
longer it ages. As the tea ages it develops many health benefits for our body and mind. More than 800 science papers have been published about Puerh Tea in the past 2 years.

We believe every single step and detail matters when preparing tea. Tea Tell Truth sources tea from multiple famous tea mountains, currently He Kai, Bing Dao, Yi Wu, Ban Zhang, Yi Bang and Jing Mai. The Tea Tell Truth family has developed lifelong friendships with tea farmers and tea masters over 16 years of preparing tea. Yunnan Tea Farmer’s provide authentic and traditional processing.

This treasure takes time to shine. The truth needs time to prove. This cup of tea has been through years of journey. (hand-pick, tea processing, compressing and fermenting)

It’s time for the tea to shine and tell how amazing it is.
