Sifu Lee Moy Shan aka Grandmaster (GM) Douglas Lee, was born in China in 1949. He began formal martial arts training at the tender age of eight, and in 1973 became the first student taught by Grandmaster Moy Yat in the United States.

In 1975, Lee co-authored one of the first books about Wing Chun – Ving Tsun for Young People. Wing Chun is a concept-based traditional Southern Chinese Kung fu style and a form of self-defense, which utilizes both striking and grappling in close-range combat. In 2016 GM Lee produced A Wing Chun Journey to the Heart video series. A comprehensive documentary on Wing Chun’s Kuen Kuit (“Words of Wisdom”) beyond the battlefield, the series was honored with several awards, including the 2017 Telly award.
During his career, GM Lee and his Clan have produced over 35 champions in full contact fighting tournaments worldwide. GM Lee is now retired, devoting his time and energy to traveling around the world spreading Saam Faat- “The Heart’s Way”.

“Saam Faat encompasses the relationship between our evolution as a human and our martial arts training,” GM Lee says,” following our journey from beginner to intermediate and all the way to mastery.”
